SunReady ("SunReady," "we," "us," or "our") is a tanning and UV-index coaching app for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built SunReady to be privacy-first: the large majority of your data stays on your device.
Location. With your permission, SunReady uses your device location to retrieve the local UV index and weather forecast and to suggest tanning times. Location is processed to fetch this data and is not collected or retained on our servers. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather (WeatherKit).
Photos and skin-tone scan. If you add progress photos or complete the optional selfie "skin scan," those images are stored locally on your device. The skin-tone analysis runs on your device; selfie images used for the scan are not uploaded to us or any third party.
Profile and activity you enter. Information such as your skin type, tanning goals, experience level, sunscreen (SPF) choices, and logged tanning sessions is stored locally on your device to personalize coaching and estimates.
Purchase and subscription data. When you subscribe, the transaction is handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat may receive a randomized app user identifier and purchase information to tell the app whether your subscription is active. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Diagnostics. Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and usage statistics through App Store Connect if you have enabled sharing in your device settings. This data does not identify you.
SunReady relies on a small number of providers to function. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:
We only work with providers that are required, by their policies or our agreements with them, to protect your information to a standard at least equal to the one described in this policy. We do not share user data with third parties that do not provide such protection.
Your photos, skin profile, and tanning logs are stored on your device. If you delete the app, this local data is removed with it. Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their policies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your photos or skin data with advertisers. We only share the limited information described above with the service providers needed to run the app.
SunReady provides UV, burn-time, and Vitamin-D figures as estimates for educational purposes only. They are not medical advice and should not be relied on to prevent sunburn, skin damage, or any health condition. Always follow the guidance of qualified health professionals and applicable sun-safety recommendations.
SunReady is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
You can revoke location or photo permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app. Because your photos and profile are stored locally, you can delete them within the app or by removing the app from your device. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data; contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by law.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
